Announcing our 2025 Musical!

Directed by Daniel Thompson, we are thrilled to be presenting Chitty Chitty Bang Bang as our first ever immersive experience, and to be leading the way for immersive theatre experiences in the non-professional Kansas City theatre scene!

Location: The Co-Op at Shoal Creek

A Place For Us Productions is so excited to announce our first ever Teen Production! This spring, step into the hilarious and witty world of The Importance of Being Earnest, Oscar Wilde’s sparkling comedy of manners. Our vibrant and thoroughly entertaining theatrical production perfectly captures the wit, charm, and biting social satire of the original play. Directed by Alexandra Rovirosa, this new interpretation brings fresh energy to Wilde’s beloved masterpiece while staying true to the wit and wordplay that has made the play a timeless classic.

Set in the late 19th century, the play revolves around two charming but mischievous bachelors, Algernon Moncrieff and John Worthing, who each lead double lives to escape the constraints of Victorian society. John, who uses the name "Ernest" when in town, seeks to win the hand of Gwendolen Fairfax, who is obsessed with the name. Meanwhile, Algernon adopts the persona of "Ernest" to woo Cecily Cardew, John’s young ward. However, as lies compound upon lies, mistaken identities and a series of comic misunderstandings ensue, culminating in a brilliantly absurd and heartwarming conclusion.

Thank you for believing in the power of the arts and for being a part of our theatre family. We can’t wait to see you at our next performance!

the most immediate way in which a human being can share
with another the sense of what it is to be a human being.”
